New Media undoubtedly composes of 5 C's: Communication, Collaboration, Community, Creativity, and Convergence. Few examples of new media are Blogs, Wikis, online social networking, virtual worlds, social media forms, etc. To me they all have 3 things in common, they are easily accessible, price convenient, and universal. What I mean by universal is that they are irrelevant to any sort of discrimination. Anyone from anywhere at anytime can use new media.
To me new media has made the most difference in the world of business. It had driven firms prime goal of profit maximization to customer satisfaction. Hence, giving most importance to customer satisfaction is what has made new media easily accessible, price convenient, and universal. To me new media can also be termed Consumer/People's media.
